Why do people buy books...do they actually get read more than once?

hi i do buy books and i do read them once but after that they just lie there on my bookshelf gathering dust, for me i think people just buy them for the sake of it because you know when you walk into a book shop and its all lit and dark and quiet and all around you theres loads of books you just feel the urge to like go and buy one. thats probably what attracts most people it certainley attracts me. theres nothing like a visit to a bookshop in winter and sitting on the soft chairs with a takeaway hot chocolate! LOL
